I made purchased from NAPA Paint & Supply Store located at 800 Southlake Blvd. Richmond, VA 23236; I told the employee what I am wanting to do and was told a can of SprayMax 2K Aerosol Auto Paint will do what you want it to do.

So I brought a total of 4 cans. When I got home and was getting ready to use it, there were NO DIRECTIONS on how to use the product. The product has screwed the paint on the car. Took the car to the body shop the dealership uses and was told "They should have never sold me the product because it is NOT used for what I wanted it for." Now need a new front end paint job.

I called the regional manager and the regional manager did not have the courtesy to call a consumer back. He had the Paint Store Manager call me back and offer 1) a refund OR 2) the same product again. I can not believe that they offered me the same product that screwed up the car to start with. I have put a call into the Corporate Office.

Will see where that goes. I am not do with them yet!!!!

Location: West Islip, New York

Sounds like you just don't really know what you're doing. There are so many things that can go wrong, especially when trying to touch up.

Surface must be prepped correctly.

I'm betting the clear caused your paint to wrinkle, which comes from poor prep or incorrect primer/base/clear compatibility (ie urethane vs Acrylic). Whatever it was though, wasn't NAPA's fault.

Your fault for not researching the materials you were working with. 100% your responsibility. That's why professionals in this field require proper training.

It was your screw up, not theirs. If you're buying a professional grade 2K paint product im sure they assume you know what you're doing, since its a very hazardous material that is intended to be used only by professionals.

Even after they acknowledged that it was your screw up, they still went above and beyond what should be expected of them, they offered your money back as well as offering you additional product on their dime, which 3 cans of 2K is about 100 bucks. I don't see how you could ask for any better service than what you received. From the sounds of your review, I'm sure the are more than happy for you to purchase your body work supplies elsewhere in the future. Spraymax 2K aerosol paints are excellent, very high quality products, expensive but quality products never come cheap.

However, spraymax 2K paints contain very strong chemicals that can have adverse effects on various types of paint and clear coats, this is the reason the label says "for professional use only", since the majority of people using the product are not going to need to read the instructions on how to lay down a panel of paint.

You should not be angry at these companies, they should be shaking their head at you, which I'm sure they are. Good luck to you

Don't do things you don't know how to do...

Should have used a paint roller, it would have smoothed everything out. I agree about not having instructions.

If you had a paint roller this wouldnt have happened! Maybe they can buy you more paint AND the paint roller...
